PURPOSE:To improve low rolling resistance and mobility on a highly damp road by a construction wherein a cap tread consists of shoulder sections with enhanced low rolling resistance characteristic and a central section with enhanced running characteristic on muddy road, and the type breadth defined within a certain range respectively. CONSTITUTION:A cap tread is constructed of a central rubber layer B 1/4-1/2 of the developed breadth of the cap tread in breadth and remaining rubber layers A in both shoulder sections. The rubber layer A is the one offering low rolling resistance, the relatively high dynamic modulus of elasticity and a relatively small dynamic loss. In addition, the rubber layer B is the one with good mobility on a damp road, the relatively low dynamic modulus of elasticity and a relatively large dynamic loss. With this construction, it is possible to obtain a pneumatic tire which offers improved low rolling resistance and mobility on a damp road. |
