Compns. for the treatment of certain cardiac disorders suitable for oral admin. contain creatine-O-phosphate of formula I. The daily dose of I is 5-25 mg/kg body wt. I effects the contractility of the myocardium, and alleviates cardiac insufficiency, arrythmia and conduction disorders. I is pref., formulated as tablets, which effervesce on contact with water. A suitable tablet lubricant is polyethylene glycol of mol. wt. 4000-20000. The compns. may contain vitamin C and/or vitamin B6, which potentiate the action of I.
