PURPOSE:To ensure the easy operability of a switch, regardless of a user's position by integrally laying an optical signal projector and a reflected wave receiver, and positioning the light projection and receiving section of the integrated projector and receiver, and a sensor probe window at the center of the front cover of an illumination device body. CONSTITUTION:A projector 21 is fed with current from a power circuit 25a in a sensor control section 25, and an oscillator in the projector 21 causes an infrared LED 20 to generate pulses according to a constant cycle. An optical signal PS1 transmitted from the diode 20 is reflected by an object 33 such as a user's hand. The reflected signal PS2 thereof is received by a phototransistor 22 in a light receiving unit 23, and converted to an electrical signal. Furthermore, the signal is amplified by an amplifier in the light receiving unit 23 and outputted to a main control circuit 25b in a sensor control section 25. As aforementioned, the light projection and receiving section of a reflective type photoelectric sensor is positioned at the center of the front cover 26 of an illumination device body 17. According to the aforesaid construction, illumination light can be smoothly turned on and off, regardless of a user's working position. |
