PURPOSE:To prevent bonding failure and a short circuit with an adjacent wire by a method wherein a wire is once pulled between a spool and a tool in order to straighten the curl of the wire. CONSTITUTION:After the second wire bonding has been completed and the wire has been cut, a clamper 19 moves forward while grasping the wire in order to extend the end thereof to beneath a tool 14 in preparation for the subsequent first bonding. In this case, if a clamper 23A is operated to restrain the wire, it is pulled between the clampers 19 and 23A to form into a straight line. Thereby, the curl is extremely effectively straightened without any disconnection. Then, when the grasp by the clamper 23A is weakened, the wire is allowed to pass through the clamper 23A and progressed by means of the clamper 19 so as to return to the initial state preparing for the first bonding at the subsequent position. By said constitution, there is no possiblity of disconnection or a short circuit with an adjacent wire. Accordingly, excellent wire bonding can be performed. |
