Polyurethane surface layers of artificial leather are dyed with solutions of spirit-soluble, water-insoluble dyes in a mixture of organic solvents of which at least one is a softening agent for the polyurethane, in particular metal complex dyes are used and a specific solvent mixture is acetone, butyl acetate, methyl glycol acetate. Acetone and methyl glycol acetate are softeners for polyurethane. The dye solutions may be sprayed onto the polyurethane. |
