DETOUR PATH RETRIEVAL METHOD

PURPOSE:To restore a faulty path in a comparatively short time by retrieving and deciding a detour path bypassing the faulty location as to each of the faulty paths when a fault takes place in a communication network. CONSTITUTION:When a fault takes place in a node C and a node D detects it as a signal interruption in a link CD, a bypass retrieval message in which the node D is used as a start point of a detour path and a node included in a path tracer is an object of an end node of the bypass is sent to an adjacent node by using an area of a section overhead 10 with respect to all output links. When its own node is an object of the end point of the bypass, the detour path setting message is sent back to the sender through a path opposite to that for the detour path retrieval message. The start point node decides a path represented in the detour path setting message reached first as to each group as the bypass.
