PURPOSE:To obtain a polyester composition suitable for obtaining a fiber excellent in anti static properties under especially low-temperature and low-humidity conditions and their permanence by mixing an aromatic polyester with a specified polyoxyethylene polyether, a metal sulfonate surfactant and a sulfocarboxylic acid compound. CONSTITUTION:An polyester composition is prepared by mixing 100 pts.wt. aromatic polyester with 0.2-30 pts.wt. nonrandom copolymer polyoxyethylene polyether (of an average molecular weight of 5000-16000) of formula I (wherein Z is an organic group having 1-6 active hydrogen atoms and a molecular weight of 300 or below, R<1> is 6C or higher alkylene, R<2> is H, 1-40C monovalent hydrocarbyl or 2-40C monovalent acyl; k is 1-6; l is a number to give a product of kxl of 70 or greater, and m is 1 or greater) and 0.05-10 pts.wt. sulfocarboxylic acid compound of formula II (wherein M<1> and M<2> are each a metal; n is 1 or 2; and X is H or an esterifiable functional group), e.g. magnesium sodiosulfobenzene-3,5-dicarboxylate. |
