NEW MATERIAL:A human-human hybridoma capable of producing a human monoclonal anti-basement membrane antibody (anti-basement membrane antibody for short). EXAMPLE:Human-human hybridoma 5.HY-4B (IFO 50,249). USE:Producing anti-basement membrane antibody useful as a diagnosticum for congenital hydroa and metastase inhibitor. The antibody can be produced efficiently and in high purity because of excellent multiplication ability, antibody forming ability and antibody forming stability. PREPARATION:An apti-basement membrane antibody forming human cell (preferably peripheral blood lymphocyte derived from patient of autoimmune disease followed by hydroa) is infected with Epstein-Barr virus, activated and then a transformed cell thereof is fused with human B lymphoblast-like cell (preferably AC-33 strain).
