<p>PURPOSE:To efficiently obtain a protoplast of Melissa officinalis L. useful for breeding in a short period of time by sterilizing seed of Melissa officinalis L., breeding and then treating lamina of sterile grown plant with an enzyme. CONSTITUTION:First, seed of Melissa officinalis L. is sterilized and seeded to grow a sterile plant. Then, lamina of sterile grown plant is finely cut and treated with a solution of an enzyme to liberate a protoplast. Finally the protoplast is purified and isolated from the solution of an enzyme by centrifugation.</p> |
