PURPOSE:To improve a maintenance characteristics by a method wherein an air conditioner is provided with means for heating air within a branch device of a freezing cycle. CONSTITUTION:A branch device B is connected to an outdoor device A. A plurality of indoor devices C1 to C3 are connected to the branch device B. A freezing cycle is constructed by these devices A, B and C1 to C3. As means for heating air within the branch device B of the freezing cycle, an anti-dew forming heater 84 is provided. The air within the branch device B is heated by this anti-dew forming heater 84 and a relative humidity within the branch device is decreased, resulting in that an amount of dew formation generated at the surface of piping is reduced. The generated dew formation is rapidly evaporated due to the heated air and finally eliminated. With such an arrangement, it is possible to improve a maintenance characteristics.
