TREATMENT OF LARGE VOLUME OF CO2 GAS

PURPOSE:To suppress the dissolution/diffusion of liquid CO2 or the compound thereof with seawater into seawater by coating the surface of liquid CO2 accumulated on the bottom of the sea in a very deep region or the surface of the compound thereof with seawater with a water-insoluble substance. CONSTITUTION:When CO2 is liquefied and charged in the very deep region of the sea to be preserved therein the surface of liquid CO2 accumulated on the bottom 1 of the sea in the very deep region or the surface of the compound 2 thereof with seawater is coated with a water-insoluble substance 3 (e.g. plate- shape or membrane-like substance composed of polyethylene or polyvinyl chloride). By this method the dissolution/diffusion of liquid CO2 or the compound thereof with seawater into seawater can be suppressed.
