PURPOSE:To carry out drying process without using a developing liquid by providing an ink repellent layer from which an image can be transferred thermally to the surface of a support. CONSTITUTION:An image receiving support is attached closely to the ink repellent layer side of a thermally transferable recording material with an ink repellent layer from which an image can be transferred to a support and is heated in accordance with the profile of an image using a heating head from the support side of the thermally transferable recording material. Thus the in repellent layer is transferred to the image receiving support and then is subjected to thermal processing. In this case, the thermally transferable recording material is composed of the ink repellent layer and a thermally melting transfer layer provided in that order on the support. It is recommended that the ink repellent layer contain silicone resin. This printing plate material requiring no wetting water becomes a thermally transferable recording material when a lithographic printing plate requiring no wetting water is manufactured. The recommended support which constitutes said printing plate material is of excellent size stability and also highly heat-resistant when data is recorded using a thermal head. |
