The invention relates to a saddle assembly for two-wheeled vehicles, particularly for racing bikes, of the sort comprising a small backrest mounted on the rear part of the saddle proper. This saddle assembly is characterised in that the said small backrest (4) is mounted so that it can slide between a high position of use in which it projects above the upper surface of the saddle (1) proper and a low retracted position in which it does not extend upwards beyond the upper surface of the saddle.
