<p>PURPOSE:To guarantee an equal loss probability even to a call having a different traffic characteristic by classifying calls housed in a communication channel into plural communication classes and assigning the communication classes to partial communication resources divided in corresponding to the classification, and then changing the size of the partial communication resources on the basis of observed communication statuses at every communication class. CONSTITUTION:By classifying calls into plural communication classes depending upon traffic characteristics or quantities of communication resources found from the traffic characteristics and required for communications and also dividing the communication resource of a packet exchange network into partial communication resources in corresponding to the classification, call connection control is performed on a partial communication resource N corresponding to a communication class N when an originating request is made to a call belonging to the communication class N. The divided number of the communication resource is the same as that of the communication classes. When the communication resource is divided, the loss probability, packet discard ratio, or packet transfer delay time is measured and, when the ratio of a measured loss probability is different from the ratio of a loss probability preset between each communication class, the communication resource quantity of each partial communication resource is changed to make the ratio of the communication resources coincident with the preset ratio.</p> |
