The financing of accommodation is provided for by means of a mortgage linked to a salary. A borrower repays a loan from a lender by repaying a percentage of his salary, irrespective of the way in which the salary varies, for a predetermined period. The percentage may be the same for the whole of the period or it may vary in a predetermined manner. The lender may also unilaterally alter the percentage if the borrower does not make payments on the specified dates. In practice, a practical percentage value is used for each financial year and, if necessary, daily records are kept. The system is managed and supervised by data processing equipment which stores the information characterising each borrower account, the details of the repayment entries of the borrower and of his employer, which produces and updates a projected percentage for each account at the end of each month and which advises of the updated projected percentage for each account at the end of each month.
