PURPOSE:To easily and rapidly crush a large amt. of a permanent magnet by sealing the lumps of an alloy having a specified compsn. in a vessel, colliding and crushing the lumps by movement when hydrogen is occluded in the lumps and the lumps are heat-treated. CONSTITUTION:Lumps of am alloy based on R (one or more kinds of rare earth elements including Y), B and T (Fe or Fe and Co) are sealed in a vessel and hydrogen is occluded in the lumps by filling the vessel with an atmosphere contg. gaseous hydrogen. The vessel is then evacuated or filled with an inert gaseous atmosphere and the lumps are heat-treated. In the occluding and heat treating processes, the vessel is turned, swung or vibrated to collide the lumps with each other or with the inner wall of the vessel and to crush or pulverize the lumps. The treating ability of the device can be considerably enhanced with respect to the size. |
