The braking regulation system provides variations in the brake pressure applied to the vehicle wheels in dependence on the measured wheel rotations. The latter are evaluated to provide an approximation of the vehicle velocity and are used in conjunction with the wheel velocities to detect the wheel slip. The reference velocity is adjusted in dependence on the retardation during braking which is obtained from the gradient of the curve represented by the measured wheel rotation rates. Pref. the wheel rotation signals are fed to a microprocessor together with given weighting factors, during the constant braking phase, for valuation of the reference velocity and the retardation.
