Vessel contg. an aq. fluid substance to be mixed is positioned in a support plate and retained therein by a resilient member while a mixing cylinder is moved upwardly so that the bottom of the vessel engages in a recess concentrically positioned in the top of the mixing cylinder. The mixing cylinder is rotated to move the vessel bottom eccentrically around its vertical axis to mix the fluid.
