The antenna uses four individual radiators divided into two phase-opposed halves by a symmetry line (1). Parallel adjacent radiator strips are arranged in vertical columns or horizontal rows on either side of the line. The number of radiators operated in counter-phase compared to the overall number of radiators varies from 0 per cent. at each edge of the transition zone to 50 per cent. at the symmetry line (1) along the centre of the transition zone. The radiators operated in counter-phase are pref. statically distributed in strips parallel to the symmetry line (1).
