PURPOSE:To improve shelf stability and dispersibility of a thermally diffusing dyestuff in an ink layer to obtain a high-density image even with a low thermal energy by a method wherein the ink layer containing a polyvinyl butyral- acetoacetal copolymer resin and the thermally diffusing dyestuff is provided on a substrate. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal transfer recording ink sheet, an ink layer containing a polyvinyl butyral-acetoacetal copolymer resin and a thermally diffusing dyestuff is provided on a substrate. As the thermally diffusing dyestuff, a cyan dyestuff, a magenta dyestuff, and an yellow dyestuff can be exemplified. The loading amount of the thermally diffusing dyestuff on the substrate is normally 0.1-20g per square meter. The polyvinyl butyral-acetoacetal copolymer resin preferably has a polymerization degree of 1500-3000. The resin having a polymerization degree of 1500 or more improves the dye in dispersibility and the thermal transfer recording ink sheet in shelf stability. On the contrary, the resin having a polymerization degree less than 1500 deteriorates the shelf stability. The resin having a polymerization degree more than 3000 lowers the dispersibility of the dye, prevents the dye from being sufficiently transferred, and requires a high energy for obtaining a high-density image. |
