<p>PURPOSE:To accurately judge the timing for recycling particulates under any operating condition by making use of the conductivity of the particulates, and finally short-circuiting a space between detecting terminals when the particulates increase in quantity as a filter is used. CONSTITUTION:A particulate filter 1 is housed in a trap container, and exhaust pipes 3a and 3b are connected to the front and rear ends of the trap container 2. By the way, when particulates are collected, the particulates in exhaust gas flowing in the exhaust pipe 3a are attached so as to be piled up onto not only the inner wall of an exhaust gas inlet passage 4 but also the end face of the plug member 8 of an exhaust gas outlet passage 5. This thereby causes respective detecting terminals 13a and 13b to be finally short-circuited via the particulates over the end face 1a of the filter. as a result, a detecting circuit 14 is energized, so that an energizing signal is thereby outputted to a control circuit 10. This thereby permits the control circuit 10 to execute filter recycling actions, that is, starting energizing an electric heater line.</p> |
