Thermal transfer sheet coated with beta, beta:cyano-styryl dyestuff - giving yellow print and used in dyestuff diffusion thermal transfer printing

Thermal transfer sheet has a coating contg. a 4-substd.-amino-beta, beta-dicyano-styryl dyestuff of the formula (I) in which R1-2 independently = lower alkyl; Q = 2-5 C alkylene; X = halophenyl, 1-3 C alkylphenyl or a (substd.) 5-membered N-heterocycle. (I) are known cpds. or can be prepd. (I) (not claimed) by known methods described in CH 505876 and DE 2308706. USE/ADVANTAGE - (I) are yellow dyestuffs and can be mixed, opt. with other transferrable dyestuffs, e.g. cyan azo dyestuffs. The material is useful for the dyestuff diffusion thermal transfer (D2T2) process, e.g. for making hard copy from video cameras, computer screens, television and digital data carried by telecommunications networks. The image quality is close to that obtd. by classical colour photography.
