PURPOSE:To normally detect time out without altering the time out detection routine of a program by setting a value corresponding to emulation time when emulation starts. CONSTITUTION:A clock generation circuit 12a alters the clock periods of a processor 11 and a timer 13 on additional hardware 10 based on the set point of a setting register 4. An emulator 3 sets a prescribed value corresponding to time required for emulation in the setting register 4 at the start time of emulation. The time out detection program 30a sets a timer value, starts the timer 13 and executes a time out detection processing based on information on the timer 13. Thus, time out detection time can arbitrarily be set by the value which the emulator 3 sets. Thus, time out is prevented from erroneously being detected at the time of a normal operation, time out is appropriately detected, and a recovery processing is executed. |
