PURPOSE:To obtain an optical recording material having a high molecular extinction coefficient and a superior shelf stability to heat and light on which information can be recorded by a semiconductor laser by a method wherein an optical recording layer and a substrate are provided, and a specific dye is incorporated in the recording layer. CONSTITUTION:An optical recording material is provided with an optical recording layer and a substrate. A dye shown by a formula I is incorporated in the recording layer. In the formula, R is halogen atom, alkyl group, acylamino group, carbamoyl group, benzimidazolyl group, amino group, or sulfonamide group; l is an integer of 1-3; Y is halogen atom, alkyl group, alkoxy group, or amino group; and X is amino group, hydroxy group, or acylamino group. As a material for the substrate, plastics are suitable from various standpoints. As the plastics, an acrylic resin, a methacrylic resin, and a vinyl acetate resin can be exemplified. This dye having an absorption range from a near infrared region to an infrared region allows an easy information recording on the recording material using a semiconductor laser. Moreover, the recording material is enhanced in a molecular extinction coefficient and superior in resistance to heat and light and shelf stability. |
