<p>The present invention relates to a process for removing contaminants, particularly heavy metal cations from industrial sludge and other industrial materials. The process comprises mixing the industrial wastes with specific fine clay or shale particles to form pellets which are heated at high temperature to form a nonhazardous sintered product. The product is then utilized in the manufacture of bricks, cinder blocks and other building materials and surfaces.</p> |
