The time indicating system (3) has an upper circular disc divided in to two semi-circular surfaces continuously rotating in a clockwise direction, and a lower circular disc arranged below the first disc, also divided in to two semicircular surfaces, rotating intermittently. The first semicircular surface of the upper circular disc is formed optically homogeneous and totally reflecting and the second semicircular surface is formed optically inhomogeneous and circumferentially forms a transition from totally reflecting to transparency. The transition from totally reflecting to completely transparent forms essentially a sharply defined line, representing a radius of the disc which serves as the analogue hour indicator, between the two semicircular surfaces of the upper circular disc. The two semicircular surfaces of the lower circular disc are designed totally reflecting and have a marked light/dark or colour contrast to each other. USE/ADVANTAGE - Watch esp. wrist watch for indicating hours and in certain cases mins. and/or secs. Actual time is simply produced with day and night time unambiguously indicated.
