Combustion air is preheated by a burner to which fuel is supplied by the valve (7) comprising an armature (23) movable axially (22) within a winding sleeve (16) and coil (17). The channel connecting an inlet space (31) to a spring chamber (28) is constituted by a longitudinal bore (25) which extends well into the armature (23) and contains the closure spring (21). Radial passages (34) joining the longitudinal bore (25) to the inlet space (31) for equalisation of pressure are open in all positions of the valve. ADVANTAGE - Compact and reliable valve guarantees tight closure over long periods in all operating conditions.
