The arm support consists of a box-like body, which is movable relative to at least one neighbouring seat. The support body consists of at least three parts, e.g. a housing (2) formed as a tray (1); a similarly formed second housing (3), to cover the first tray; and a cover (4). Housings and cover are hinged to each other along the rear narrow end (5,5',5''). The cover is formed as a hood-like hollow body, open on the side facing the second housing.
