The stainless-steel plate is for drying out damp masonry, into which it is driven. It is corrugated for increased rigidity, the axes of the corrugations running in the driving direction. The cross-section of the corrugations (3,2) is curved at all points, adjacent corrugations (4) being joined at points (5) where the curvature reverses without any intervening flat portion. They are pref. of hard and non-stretching material. The profile can be circular or sinusoidal.
