ERgoline derivs. of formula (I) and their acid addn. salts are new where X=O or S; R1=lower alkyl; R2=halo, acyl, opt. unsatd. lower alkyl, (opt. substd. by OR4), SR5, (a) or CHO; R3=lower alkyl or acyl. The dotted bond between C9 and C10 is a single or double bond, and if a single bond, then 10-H is in the alpha-position; R4=H, lower alkyl, tetrahydropyranyl, cycloalkyl or opt. substd. aryl; R5=lower alkyl (opt. substd. by aryl) or opt. substd. aryl; and n= 2 or 3. 25 Cpds. are specifically claimed e.g. 1,1-diethyl-3-(1,6-dimethyl -2-Q-8alpha-ergolinyl)urea where Q is methylthio.
