[Also in Division C5] An olefin disproportionation catalyst comprises a supported molybdenum and/or tungsten oxide-containing catalyst treated with one or more alkyl aluminium halides, and as a promoter an alkanoic acid. Suitable supports contain SiO 2 and/or Al 2 O 3 and optionally MgO, TiO 2 , B 3 O 3 and Zro 2 . In the Example the catalyst was tungstic oxide or SiO 2 -Al 2 O 3 treated with Et 3 Al 2 Cl 3 and promoted with acetic acid. |
