PURPOSE:To prevent generation of any warp even after peel-off of the plate- shaped jig device by performing between a first and a second polishing step a heat treatment for eliminating the residual stress and working distortion of an article desired to be worked, which have taken place during polishing in the first polishing step. CONSTITUTION:In the heat-treating step, an article 10 desired to be worked which is caused by wax 12 to adhere to a plate-shaped jig device 14 is heated up to a softening point of the wax 12 together with the jig device 14 to thereby release the force of the wax 12 acting to fix the article 10. Thereby, a warp, resulting from the residual stress and working distortion produced by polishing in a first polishing step, is purposely produced in the article. The resulting article subjected to slow cooling as it stands and, in a state wherein the warp is made in the article, the wax is hardened to fix the article. Next, in a second polishing step, the previous warp in the heat-treating step is removed under the conditions which would lesson damages, such as residual stress, working distortion, etc., to the article with a lower load than that during the polishing in the first polishing step being applied to the article. |
