<p>PURPOSE:To enhance the affinity of a pigment with a resin in an ink and improve the printability and gloss of the ink by treating the surface of the pigment with a rosin-modified phenol resin having a specified acid value. CONSTITUTION:A pigment compsn. contg. a pigment of which the surface is treated with a rosin-modified phenol resin having an acid value of 100 or higher is produced by using an org. pigment such as Pigment Yellow, Pigment Red, or Pigment Blue or an inorg. pigment. The surface treatment is carried out with an aq. 5-20wt.% rosin-phenol soap soln., made from the rosin-modified phenol resin and sodium hydroxide, at 60-100 deg.C for 15-60min under stirring in a wt. ratio (solid base) of the pigment to the soap of 100/1-100/30. About 1-40 pts.wt. the compsn. is dispersed in 99-60 pts.wt. solution or mixture contg. a resin, a drying oil, a solvent, etc., in a usual way to give a printing ink.</p> |
