ALGINIC ACID SALT FIBER, ITS PLANAR AGGREGATE AND THEIR PRODUCTION

PURPOSE:To obtain the subject fiber having antibacterial, disinfecting, wound- healing and blood-coagulating effects by compounding an alkali metal alginate with a zeolite compound containing an antibacterial metal and extruding the obtained mixture into a solution of a polyvalent metal salt. CONSTITUTION:An alkali metal alginate (preferably sodium alginate) is mixed with a zeolite compound containing antibacterial metal (preferably Ag, Zn or Cu) and the mixture is extruded into a solution of a polyvalent metal salt (preferably calcium salt) to obtain the objective fiber.
