<p>PURPOSE:To prepare a pigment compsn. giving a printing ink having good print effect and a high gloss by treating the surface of a pigment with an alkyd resin having a specified acid value. CONSTITUTION:A pigment (e.g. an org. pigment such as Pigment Yellow, Pigment Red, or Pigment Blue, or an inorg. pigment) is surface treated with an alkyd resin having an acid value of 100 or higher to give a pigment compsn. The acid value of 100 or higher facilitates the surface treatment and increases the effect of the treatment. The obtd. compsn. gives a printing ink having a better pint effect and a higher gloss and being applicable in a wider range than conventional printing ink.</p> |
