A packing unit (10), in particular for transporting bottles (12) by plane has at least part of its lower region covered with a liqid absorbent material (20). For the transport of aqueous liquids, the absorbent material (20) is made of homogeneously mixed, hydrophilic pulp of cellulose-containing fibres melded at various spots to fibres in at least a thermoplastic material, forming a highly resistant net-like structure into which is introduced a superabsorber. For the transport of oily liquids, the absorbent material (20) is made from a hydrophobic pulp of polyolefin fibrils thoroughly mingled and clasped together. |
