PURPOSE:To generate high magnetizing magnetic field for magnetizing a multipolar rare earth permanent magnet and to magnetize the multipolar magnet with less heat generation by controlling the waveform of a pulselike current for magnetizing multipolars on the outer peripheral surface of a pipelike or columnar permanent magnet disposed on the inner peripheral surface of a pipelike yoke. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of grooves are formed on the inner peripheral surace of a pipelike yoke of a soft magnetic material, a pulselike magnetizing current flows from a pulse magnetizing power source to a multipolarly magnetized yoke in which wires are wound in the grooves to multipolarly magnetize the outer peripheral surface of a pipelike or columnar permanent magnet disposed on the inner peripheral surface on the yoke. A time from the start of flow of the magnetizing current to the arrival at its peak and its half value range are shorter to reduce heat generation from the yoke, and the case in which the magnet is not sufficiently magnetized is frequent. If it is lengthened more than required, heat generation is increased. Accordingly, the time from the start of flow to the arrival at the peak is 600 microseconds or less, and the half value range is set to 600-800 microseconds thereby to generate high magnetizing magnetic field for magnetizing a multi high magnetizing magnetic field magnetizing a multipolar rare earth element permanent magnet and to reduce heat generation. |
