发明名称 PRODUCTION OF POLYGLYCEROL ESTER OF FATTY ACID
摘要 PURPOSE:To simplify a purifying process, improve the yield and obtain the subject compound which is a nonionic surfactant by using a metallic oxide as an esterifying catalyst and reacting a polyglycerol having 2-10 polymerization degree with a fatty acid. CONSTITUTION:Polyglycerol is esterified with a fatty acid. In the process, a metallic oxide such as tin oxide, zinc oxide or iron oxide is used as a reaction catalyst therefor to carry out reaction. Thereby, the objective polyglycerol ester of the fatty acid is obtained. The esterification rapidly proceeds with hardly any coloring of the crude ester substance by using the aforementioned catalyst. Since the catalyst is insoluble in the raw material polyglycerol and the fatty acid, the objective substance of good quality can be obtained simply by filtration after completing the reaction. Thereby, steps for washing with water can be omitted. Furthermore, deterioration in yield due to the steps, etc., for washing with water can be solved. The resultant ester is useful as a nonionic surfactant such as a raw material for emulsifying agents, medicines, anti-fogging agents, food additives and cosmetics.
