PURPOSE:To prevent a battery from overdischarging sensing absence of a vehicle driver when an accelerator is not pressed and set to a traveling range, setting an exciting current command value to zero when the absence of the driver is sensed, and supplying it to drive control means for vector-controlling a motor. CONSTITUTION:A seat switch 22 is buried in a seat used by a driver. When the driver leaves the seat, the switch is turned OFF. A controller 16 inputs a signal indicating that the switch 22 becomes OFF, and sets the command value of an exciting current Id to zero. Since a command value of a torque current Iq is already set to zero at this time, the value of the current supplied from an inverter 12 to a motor 10 becomes zero. As a result, the power of a battery 14 is not supplied to the motor 10. |
