<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the maintenance cost of the device by passing the spent xenon gas discharged from the detector of an X-ray inspection device through an adsorption vessel, radiator and check valve to refine the gas, cooling and solidifying the gas by the xenon gas reclaimer dipped in a liq. nitrogen tank, recovering and storing the solidified xenon in the reclaimer. CONSTITUTION:The xenon gas discharged from a detector 1 through a xenon gas outlet passage 2 is introduced into an adsorption vessel 3, where moisture and carbon dioxide are absorbed by a first adsorption vessel 3a packed with zeolite, and then introduced into a second adsorption vessel 3b packed with a getter and heated to a high temp., where the gases other than the rare gases (e.g. xenon gas) are chemisorbed. The xenon gas thus refined is cooled to room temp. by a radiator 4 and introduced into a xenon gas reclaimer 6 through a check valve 5. Since the reclaimer 6 is cooled by the liq. nitrogen in a liq. nitrogen tank 7, the xenon gas is cooled below its m.p., solidified, recovered and stored as such.</p> |
