A type-XLL cross-axis synchronous flow-through coil planet centrifuge including exclusively left-handed column coils and a method of separating macromolecules utilizing the same. The exclusive use of left-handed column coils allows retention of the stationary phase when utilizing aqueous-aqueous two-phase solvent systems.
