发明名称 HIGH-TOUGHNESS PRECISION PART
摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain the title precision parts of high mechanical strength, capable of making their tips fine, by producing such parts using zirconium oxide containing a specified amount of cerium oxide. CONSTITUTION:The objective precision parts consisting of 3.0-20wt.% of cerium oxide and the rest of zirconium oxide. The cerium oxide serves as stabilizer for partially stabilizing the zirconium oxide leading to enhance both the toughness and mechanical strength of the present precision parts. When the cerium oxide content is <3.0wt.%, the above toughness and mechanical strength will be inadequate; whereas, in the case where the content exceeds 20wt.%, the sintering will become difficult; therefore, the cerium content is specified within the range 3.0-20wt.%. The present precision parts can be applied not only as wire bonding capillaries but also as materials requiring high-level toughness such as members for optical connectors and various kinds of wire guide. Furthermore, the present parts can be applied, besides the above-mentioned parts, as all thin-walled precision parts of complicated design subject to chippings and/or crackings.
