PURPOSE:To obtain a rotor which has a small diameter, small size, fixed characteristic, and large torque by forming cross finger electrodes on the outer peripheral surface of a hollow cylindrical body of a piezo-electric ceramic material at 45 deg. with the length direction of the cylindrical body and polarizing and driving the cylindrical body by using the cross finger electrodes. CONSTITUTION:Finger electrodes 6a and 6b are formed on the outer peripheral surface of a press-formed hollow cylindrical body of a piezo-electric material at 45 deg. with the length direction of the cylindrical body by printing conductive paste in the direction and two cross finger electrodes 6 are formed by connecting every other end sections of the finger electrodes 6a and 6b to common electrodes 6c and 6d. When a polarizing process is performed by using the cross finger electrodes 6 thus formed, the polarizing direction becomes perpendicular to the length direction of the finger electrodes 6a and 6b. Therefore, when an DC voltage is applied across the cross finger electrodes 6 from the common electrodes 6c and 6d, an elongative distortion occurs in the direction of polarization when the polarity of the voltage is the same as that of the voltage generated at the time of polarization and a contractive distortion occurs in the direction of polarization when the polarity of the voltage is opposite to that of the voltage at the time of polarization. |
