PURPOSE:To record a bar code having an arbitrary hue metallic luster containing not only a dark color and a cool color series but also a bright color and a warm color series by a method wherein a bar recording medium is formed by providing successively a transparent colored layer formed by dispersing a color material having transparency in a binder and a metallic luster layer to a substrate. CONSTITUTION:A bar code recording medium is obtained by providing successively a transparent colored layer formed by dispersing a color material having transparency in a binder and a metallic luster layer to a substrate. This bar code recorded material can be read to the same extent as a black bar code with an ordinary bar code reader reading information by measurement of reflected intensity of light within a visible or near infrared area. The color materials capable of being used as the colored layer is a dyeing pigment having transparency of an arbitrary hue of red, green, blue, yellow, red, indigo, etc. The colored layer shall be transparent enough so as not to injure mirror reflection of the metallic luster layer coming below when transferred. As the colored layer, it shall be necessarily equipped with transparency so as to obtain 40 degree or over in a 60 degree relative specular glossiness of a transferred bar code. |
