PURPOSE:To easily obtain ferrite particles having excellent magnetic characteristics, uniaxial anisotropy and high acicular ratio by applying microwave to a mixture of acicular goethite and Ba hydroxide, etc. CONSTITUTION:One or more compounds selected from Ba hydroxide, Sr hydroxide, Pb hydroxide, etc., are mixed with acicular goethite. The mixture is heated by plasma generated by microwave irradiation. The ferrite-forming reaction is induced e.g. by the generation of active chemical species to form the objective acicular hexagonal ferrite particle. |
