PURPOSE:To obviate the generation of toner fusion on a photosensitive body and to suppress the toner fusion by incorporating negatively charged resin particles having 0.03 to 1.0mum average grain size and 10<3> to 10<12>OMEGA.cm specific electric resistance into the above developer. CONSTITUTION:This developer contains the negatively charged spherica resin particles having 0.03 to 1.0mum average grain size and 10<3> to 10<12>OMEGA.cm specific electric resistance and substantially prevents the fusion of the toners to the surface of the photosensitive body. Namely, one of the causes that the toners fuse to the surface of the photosensitive body includes the flaws generated when the surface of the photosensitive body is rubbed by the inorg. particles and contact member. The fusion of the toners to the photosensitive body is effectively prevented by removing the free inorg. particles in order to prevent the generation of such flaws on the surface of the photosensitive body. The negatively charged resin particles have the effect of adsorbing the free inorg. particles onto the surface. This effect is evident when observed by a scanning type electron microscope. The good copied images are obtd. without allowing the fusion of the toners to the photosensitive body even when copying is continued over a long period of time.
