摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a laser apparatus capable of making the distribution shape of the laser spectrum of its excited laser beam approximately equal with the absorption spectrum of an irradiation object, by synchronizing the excited laser with its exciting laser, and by providing a spectrum modifying means which can modify the distribution shape of the time region of the exciting laser beam in the neighborhood of a synchronized excitation. CONSTITUTION:When an exciting laser 20 is subjected to a mode-locked oscillation, a mirror 15 or 16 as a means for modifying the spectrum of a dye laser 1, is made movable in the direction shot by an arrow. Thereby, the length of the resonator of the dye laser 1 is equalized with the length of the resonator of the exciting laser 20, and accordingly, the dye laser 1 is subjected to the mode-locked oscillation too. Then, in this synchronized excitation state, a mirror 21 or 24 of the exciting laser 20 is made movable in the direction shown by an arrow, and thereby, the length of the resonator is changed or the modulating frequency of a modulation device 22 is changed. As a result, the width, etc., of the distribution shape of the laser spectrum of an excited laser bean 14 are changed too. Thereby, obtained is the distribution shape of the laser beam spectrum of the dye laser beam 14, which is equalized approximately with the absorption spectrum of an irradiation object, and a separation efficiency can be improved to a great extent.
