摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a beryllium diaphragm in which the purity of beryllium is high, whose sound velocity is fast and whose sound pressure is high by applying hot strip cross rolling to a beryllium plate formed by vacuum deposition, applying hot pressing to the result so as to manufacture the beryllium diaphragm. CONSTITUTION:After a beryllium is vapor-deposited onto a surface of a base, the beryllium film is separated from the base to obtain a beryllium plate. The beryllium plate formed by vapor deposition in this way include very less impurity such a BeO. Then the hot cross rolling is implemented to the beryllium plate. Thus, the metallographic structure in the beryllium plate is changed. That is, the crystal grain in the beryllium plate formed by vapor deposition is prismatic and arranged perpendicularly with respect to the surface of the base. When the beryllium plate is subject to cross rolling, the crystal grains are packed densely up to gaps of crystal grain borders and the grain particles are deformed in the metallographic structure. Thus, the ductility and strength of the beryllium plate are improved. Then hot pressing is applied to the beryllium plate subject to cross rolling to process the beryllium plate to be a prescribed shape.
