Method for obtaining carbamoyl chlorides and procedure for use thereof in the preparation of substituted monoarylureas; said chlorides of formula I (R = C1-C4 alkyl or H) are obtained by modifying the conditions of reaction between sulphur dichlorides and formamides of formula <IMAGE> especially with reference to the molar ratio thereof, the type and volume of solvent, and the exclusion of other compounds. The procedure for use is based on the reaction of a carbamoyl chloride with a substituted aniline within aliphatic hydrocarbons with 5 to 8 carbon atoms. The substituted monoarylureas obtained are biologically active as herbicides, insecticides or fungicides.
