The toilet seat includes a hollow structure (1), with openings (2) in the underside. The seat is connected by a flexible pipe (3,7) to an exhaust pump (11) having an outlet pipe (12). This pipe leads out of the bathroom to the outside environment. The electrically operated pump may be controlled by a wall-mounted switch, wall-mounted switch, photoelectric cell, or a switch mounted in the toilet seat. In a larger installation the pipes from several toilets may be linked to a common extraction system. ADVANTAGE - Odours from toilet in either private bathroom or public facilities are eliminated.
